One of the best gifts you can get your other half (or a couple celebrating their anniversary) is a bouquet of flowers. Some ideas on the types of flowers that are normally sent on silver, pearl and ruby wedding anniversaries are shown below.
The silver anniversary is traditionally ‘silver’ themed, and flowers for this occasion will be hard to find but silver bows and artificial foliage with a silver colouration can be made into a floral bouquet. Some people also get champagne and a silver ice bucket to give an even more personal silver touch.
For thirty years of marriage, the traditional flowers that are sent are carnations, to cream coloured roses. The main themes here are cream or white coloured flowers that represent the ‘pearl’ (30 year) anniversary.
For the ruby wedding anniversary (40 years), the traditional flowers to send are blood red roses, and rich coloured tulips. The red colour is said to signify love.
Every year of marriage and therefore each wedding anniversary has a particular flower associated with it, so whether you are buying flowers for loved ones online or through a traditional florist, flowers have never been so popular as they are today.
